The House spent the whole of the sitting discussing an amendment moved by Mr l.ysnar that the Meat Export Control Bill he recommitted for the purpose of considering certain amendments. During the course of the debate the Minister of Agriculture announced he proposed to set up a Royal Commission to inquire into the purchase of Gisborne Meat Works by Vestv Bros. The amendment was negatived by 30 to 2S and the hill read a third time and passed. The House rose at 12.15 till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
