At Grcymouth on Tuesday Air Y 7. Aleldrum. 5..A1.,' conducted the recount of votes recorded at the Tecent Cobden Town Board elections in accordance with the finding when heard last Wednesday of a petition praying that the election he invalidated. Air Turley, whom the candidate lowest on the list of those elected (Air C. Ornms) defeated by one vote only, the voting papers had not been sealed preparatory to the declaration of the poll by the returning ollieer. This point the Magistrate ruled out on the ground that it did not materially alfect tinpoll, hut as only one vote scpnrn ted Alossrs (trams and Turley lie ordered a recount so as to decide whether the one informal vote that had been discovered on the sceond count by the returning ollieer should he credited to Air Ttirley. The result of the magisterial recount is that a few differences have been found, and these make the petitioner two instead of one behind in the poll. The Alagistrate decided that the costs of the action should he paid by the petitioner.
