The judge said the offences were committed when they wore youths and the prisoners had since redeemed their characters by serving their country in war time. Knight, butcher, was lined CIO on each of four charges of making false income tax returns. .1 ohn Wililnm Lawrence, a public ancon n t:i n b was fined C2 on each of lour charges of making negligent returns in his capacity as Knight’s agent and accountant. The charge against, Lawrence is the first of its kind heard in New Zealand. DUNEDIN YOUTHS SENTENCED. 0 A ATARI', October 15. At tlie .Magistrate’s Court the two Dunedin youths, Cyril C'urlinc, aged IS, and Robert Campbell, aged 10. pleaded guilty to six charges of theft from hotels hero and at Dunedin. They elected to be treated summarily. Curline was ordered two years detention for reformative treatment. Campbell was committed to tin* \Ycrania Boy’s training farm.
