WELLINGTON, October 8. At the Husitpnl Conference, M.r M. Frazer (Taranaki) moved: “That the Government should bear the cost of treatment of all tubercular cases, on the grounds that such cases are a menace to the public health ot the country.” lie .staled that his Board had hem penalised very heavily over such cases. They should lie paid for hy the people to whom they belonged, and not hy those who had had them for a vear or two.

It was decided to consider another remit at the same time as this one, viz., “That this Conference consider the principle of the suggested amalgamation of Hospital Boards generally throughout New Zealand for the treatment of consumptives, with a view to pooling the capital cost and maintenance thereof, in proportion to the rateable capital value of the district, and that, in order to facilitate the matter, a Committee he set up forthwith to report thereon; and that such report he submitted to and considered at this Conference.”

Mr F. Qttelch (Otago) moved this. Mr W.’llorrell (North Canterbury) moved that the Pensions Act relating to willows and children be amended so that in the event of the male parent dying the children shall lie entitled to a pension, although the divorce has annulled the marriage between the parents, ii 'nas not annulled the parentage or legitimacy of the children. The Conference passed this, and also the following North Canterbury re-mit:-—"That women whose husbands are olnniiio invalids, and are unable to work, should also be entitled to a pension.”
