Miss Foley then sought the protection ol the p.oliie, who warned the man, hut he still persisted. On Saturday he visited the hotel and the girl went to the police station and Complained. On her returning Mclunes met her, and :m altercation was I rnicrding. when another admirer of the girl intervened. Mcfniies then suddenly grasped the git I round the waist, and he shot her twice through the hieast. and himsell in the head. The police, who had visited the hotel in .search of Melnnes. arrived on the .stone just as the man shot himself.
