'UHTRALIAN AND N.Z. DA RLE ASSOCIATION. LONDON. Sept. 5. The Trade I'liion Congress passed a resolution in favour of reducing the number of Trades Fnions to a minimum, and aiming as far as possible at the organisation of industry, with every worker a member of an appropriate organisation, and instructing the General Council to draw up a scheme of organisation which might procure unity of action. A\ . .T. Kelly and Jack Jones imposed the proposal, declaring it reactionary. They should aim for one union covering the whole of the workers. The Conference unanimmtslv adopted the resolution and congratulated Government on signing the Anglo-Httssinn Treaties and calling on Government and the Commons to specially facilitate the ratification of treaties, and the application thereof as most important to the world peace and economic recovery. A resolution was adopted instructing the General Council to call a special Congress to decide upon industrial action immediately there is a danger of war.
