A sudden I iis.li ol gas killed o and injured ‘2 of the night shift of miners at the I’oiitheiiry Collieries in Wales. The violent blast extinguished the lamps. The few deaths are due to the fact that the survivors immersed their faces in the small water course, or used their caps as respirators. This is the third similar mishap in this pit in three years. A TOTAIi IOSS. SUVA. September ">. 'l’he Me.smi is broadside on to the reef, with water in the holds anil engine room and is believed to he a total loss.
