The Westport "News" savs:—'l he coal trade of Westport i*- continually held up through shipping part loading at Greymontlt anil being delayed there lor several days. Coal is brought to the port ready for shipment and then tlie expected boat does not arrive. In older days the shipping company tried working the passenger boats between the two ports and made rather a bad job of it. ‘.iitd the working of cargo ships is similarly detrimental to continuous trade. The s.s. Canopus which never runs down the Coast, is regularity itself in visiting the port and is a valuable factor in keeping the mines and the railway going.
