The "Daily Herald” says: Air Johnston, leader of the Irish Labour Party, in tin interview said: "The Irish Treatry was accepted by the Irish people as being better than a continuance- of warfare. Ireland has kept her bargain. Britain has failed. So we ought to say that the Treaty no longer hinds us, and ought to re-make our constitution, free from duress. 'I lie failure of the Treaty will not hi* regretted in Ireland. The alternative is self-deter-mination.” ULSTER THREAT. LONDON. Aug. 3. The “Belfast Telegraph,” commenting on the crisis, says: "It the British Government proceeds with its mad wicked project, civil war is certain. COSCRAVE’S REOI’ESTLONDON. Aug. 3. President Cosgrove, at Saturday * Conference, demanded that full effect he given to Article 13 of the Irish Treaty.
