DEPUTATION. Jlos-rs Houston, Staines, and Atkinson waited on the Council regarding the drafting <>f cuttle at the abattoirs. Alter discussion, it- was resolved to civs' the suggestion of the Abattoir Committee a trial, namely to dralt on tin' beach yard, and if not salisfa; torv, the Committee and the drovers confer further on the matter.

I vistied the etmeiery on uvo occasions and found a considerable amonftt of clearing had been done and footpaths attended to in the old portion of the grounds. During the month about li chains of 18-ineh (oiurete pipes have been made and about J chains of IJ-ineh pipes have I>eeu made.
Two water connections have been made to new residences, street maintenance and cleaning has also been attended to.
Deceived. Mi' Heinz said the heavy motr traffic at Cpper (lihsoil Quay called for attention. There was aho the question of regulating traffic hv certain siile streets so as to rone more satisfactorily with the lieavv trallie. Air (Tml.son agreed some action should he taken in regard to the matters mentioned. Tt was resolved that the lhihlie Works Committee fix a rente for the special traffic.

The Treaoirer reported the rates proposed were the same as last year. After discussion, during which .Mr Jeffries said there was no solution of Borough finance till there was a revaluation. the estimates were adopted. The Council rose at S.oO p.in.
