The report -of the Appointments Committee, which was adopted, stated that a letter was received from the Department authorising establishment of a school at Wallis siding, provided that there was no cost to ihe Denartmeut for a building. It was resolved to express the opinion that if the residents provided a building the Department .should at least pay a reasonable rent for it. A letter was received from the Department, authorising the employ ment of an assistant teacher and the rent of a hall at llarihari.
