The side was keen throughout o-;ocially for ewe hoggets. Any lots oi‘ forward wethers idso met with a good demand, in lin t all classes sold well. Rest forward wethers his lid to tUis :ld : :J-hred ewe hoggets 27s to his hd: M.S. hoggets 21s to 27s hd; wether hoggets tills in 22s h i : smaller and iufeiior IPs to tils lid. Vcy few ewes were yarded. Failing mouth cross-bred and :J-hred ewes. 21s !)d to 2!)s hd. Oim' very good line of 2 tooths made •Ids. Store entile- A small yarding and again mostly odd lots. One small line of I to o year bullocks made £o IDs lint practically no quotable lines were yarded. Rotters were in keen demand. Beef —A very large yarding including one line of prime North Island, which at rived ten late for the sale. The finality of the maiket generally speaking, was belter than for some time, and included rot era! cairn good lines of steers. The sale for l est quality .showed little difference from last week, in fact wo consider they wete firmer, hut unfinished lots in face of tin* big entry wete. if anything easier. Store pigs—A small entry forward and ii 11 lots sold freely at late rates. No large stores were offering. Values weie—Vcanons 1 -is to 21s; ' s’mali stores 23s to 28s; medium 30s to 40s; sows in pig £3 IQs to £0 10s.”
Mutton—A slightly larger entry than last week, more wethers than usual and the quality generally was decidedly letter all round. Included in the entry was one exceptionally Prime line of 300 wethers from the North Island which topped the market. The sale, speaking generally showed very little difference from Inst week, hut closed very linn. Prime "ethers 11s to His 3d; extra to 51s, North Islanders making up to 00s 3d. Medium 37s to Ids (id; others down to 32s 3d. Prime e'*'es 3*ls to fiSs Od, one extra .special pen making fibs, medium 20s Od to 33s fid; lighter 20s to 20s; others down to 21s Od. I ambs —The last of the season, and only odd lots were entered, but all sdd well, iit recent piicvs.
