The Democratic Convention to-night adjourned till to-morrow (Saturday) morning, after the 70th. ballot of the day iiad been taken without reaching a nomination. A resolution was moved proposing thnt both Air MoAdoo and Governor Smith should withdraw. This evoked laughter, and it.s consideration was voted down.

.SATURDAY’S SESSION. NEW YORK, .July 5. Anor the recess, 3000 delegates end alternates reconvened in the Convention Hall on Friday with their nerves frayed, and everyone prone to lie irritable at the least thing. A message from Mr Me Adoo was read to the Convention, asking the delegates to reconsider and to permit Governor Smith to address the gathering; hut the Smith faction objected strenuously, shouting:—“He has been insulted once!” The balloting was then resumed, and a tally continued to show the same hopelessness existing. Bitterness was momentarily dispelled at the fiSlh ballot, when one vote was east for a popular cowboy actor. Upon the (19th ballot, Air MeAdoo received 530 votes, this being his highwater mnrk, and Governor Smith received fitly.
