At a meeting of Cabinet, held at Wellington, on Wednesday afternoon, the resignation of Mr .1. 11. 1 ptoii. as a director of the Bank of New Zealand was accepted, and Mr Oliver Nicholson was appointed in bis place. .Mr Niholeson is it well-known Auckland solicitor. He is r.residcnt <>f the Auckland Savings Bank and chairman of directors of the New Zealand Insurance Company. He was Mayor of Mt. Fden for several years.
