HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. WELLINGTON. June 10. 'I lie Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated June 14th. from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. London:— BUTTER. The market is very firm at the advance. Official quotations are: New Zealand—Salted, finest 171 s to 170 s per cwt. (Is Gjd to Is (ijjil per lb); exceptional, 178 s per c-wt. (Is 7d per lb). Unsalted. 190 s |K*r cwt. (Is BJd per lb). Other qualities, i 10s to 108? per cwt. (Is 3]d to Is Od per lb). Australian.—Salted, finest. 102 s to 100 s per cwt. (Is s‘d to Is ojd per lb) ; unsalted, 174 s to 176. S per cwt. (Is GUI to Is Gijd per lb). Other qualities, salted, 136 s to 100 s per cwt. (Is 2.1(1 to Is djd per lb); unsalted, lids to 166 s per cwt. (Is 3d to Is b;]d per lb.) Argentine—Finest, IGU.s to ICGs per ewt. (Is .V,d to Is JiJd per lb) ; exceptional, 108 s per cwt. (Is Od per lb). Other qualities, loOs to loGs per cwt. (Is 4jd to is 4:Jd per lb). Irish—Salted, 108 s to 170 s per cwt. (Is Od to Is G]u per lb) ; uiisalted 170 s to 180 s per cwt. (Is G]d to Is 7Jil per lb). Danish—The market is firmer. The official quotations are:—lß2s to lS3s per cwt. (Is 7.jd tier lb). BEANS. The trade is practically confined to English at 45s to offs per quarter; winter, up to 58s spring. Chinese horse beans, Julv-Septembcr shipments sold at £lO per ton c.i.f. COCKSFOOT. The stocks are practically exhausted, and no quotations available. EGGS. There is good inquiry for choice selections. Others are quiet. Danish and Dutch 14s to Ids fid per long 11X1; English, Irish, Belgian and Italian 13s to 14s 3d per long 109; Lithuanian. Russian, Polish, 8s to 11s Od per long KXJ. CHEESE. The 'market is very linn. Official quotations are:—English, finest farmers’ market firm; 140 s to Mbs per cwt. (Is 3d to Is 3:|d ]>er lb)'. Canadian, coloured, finest and line. 80s to 88s per cwt. (o]d to 9.jd per lb); oolinirecr, 83s to 84s per cwt. (82*1 to 9d l>er lb) : white. 83s per cwt. (S;!d per lb). Now Zealand—Some stored cheese which is out of condition is being released. ami is selling at 80s to 90s per cwt. The market is firm. Now Zealand finest is quoted at: Coloured, 92s to 94s per cwt. (lOd per lit); white, 92s to 94s per cwt. (lOd per lit). Australian, finest coloured, 84s per cwt. 9d per lb). Shipments of New Zealand produce arrived last week per s.s. Maimoa and Hertford and this week per s.s. Waiwera.
