An older has been placed by the Hailway Department for the fitting up of a petrol driven carriage on the design cf a Christchurch engineer. Air E. B. Milckhurst. The carriage may be operated from either end, it will he fitted with a super-six cylinder engine, and will weigh 12 tons. The death occurred at the Grey River Hospital on Tuesday of Air John Nash. Deceased who was admitted to the Hospital last Thursday was an employee of the State Aline and was ol years of age. lie leaves a widow ond ten children, lour hoys and six girls, the youngest being six months and the eldest 21 years.
