ny TEL KG HATH IT. ESS ASSN'., COPYRIGHT. THE TlOAUl) OF ENQUIRY. A.S.R.S. OPPOSITION.
WELLINGTON, May -’3 Members of the A.S.It.S. are so g-icatly opposed to their case going before tl:o Arbitration Court sitting with one representative from each side, that .Mr Connelly’s declaration that nu ll a Court had been accepted is now likely to go by the board. This will mean that tho Government will have to settle the issues between the A.S.H.S. and itself. It will, no doubt, also result in the bringing of the issue directly before Parliament, but that. i, :l anv case, was a certainty, fhe A.S.H.S. executive is to assemble here on Friday, and after their meeting they will have an interview with the .Minister of Railways, probably' on the following Monday.
.MR M’ARI.ICY’S REPLY TO MR CONNELLY. J. Se(Ulon'.s time it had stood down to allow the men on a basic watte to gget ati increase. It struck in IR2O and obtained lis a day increase, with improved conditions for every mouther in the service of the Government.
