“ADEL A.”
(With itpok.gies to the lady). Ade'ui. tt charming little girl. i las come to visit us. Now all js iit a whirl. Of her. i’ll lull you thus. Site wanders in and out the | lace, Not knowing what site's doing, She’d like to run the pace, Bat uhat about the riming. She schemes and plans for e'er so long, And worries till the day. Blit ail is quite ‘‘Trtv; Bon” When ragtime lias tlie sway. Their sweet strain she does adore. She plays with heart and mind. There is a murmur of encore. Su\s she, how awfully kind. At parties gay. she plays “torto” And •‘piano” upon the ‘•llrumle” Puts on an air so haughty. Not one of us can stand. Her glances fall upon the hays. Their faces animated, Fill her heart with sweetest joys. And happiness unabated. And telljne why she should not pass The pleasant hours away, Surely any other lass Would do the same to-day. —W.E.P.
