The long looked For picture, Australia’s greatest bush drama in 8 big acts entitled “When the Kellys Wore Out” wiil be shown at the Princess Theatre to-night. Mr W. .Storey, who travels with this big special will give a vivid and descriptive lecture during thu screening. The Last Stand, where Ned Kelly met his fate, probably the most dramatic incident in Australian life for the last 100 years took place at Glenrowan on Monday morning, June 29th., 1880. The Kellys had taken up their stand at the Glenrowan Hotel, after having hunted up all the people in the town, and locked them in the building. A special trainload of police and soldiers was coming to ac-
complish the capture. Pretending that his wife was dying a man named Curnow was allowed to leave the hotel, and it was he who signalled the driver of the train that something was amiss. And so it happened, that before the outlaws were aware of their plans having been frustrated the police were upon them and the battle commenced outside the hotel. The first capture by the police was effected when Sergeant Stelle discovered Xed Kelly in his armour attempting to escape at the rear of the hotel. Sergeant Sloth' tired tit his legs and wounded him several times. Dan Kelly, Steve TTart and doe liyrne were found detul in the hotel. Xed Kelly was hanged on November lltlt. IBSU.
