A conference held between the Ministers of Agriculture of the various States to discuss cotton growing in Australia lias decided to form a Ministerial Committee to co-operate in the activities of the Common wclath and State Govcrnmenls. with a view to establishing the cotton growing industry on a sound basis. Mr Justice Bnwcr> stated that having now held two conferences, and the trouble still continuing, lie would refer the matter to the Court.
The series of Conferences, instigated by the Breinier. ended in complete failure after an hour's sitting. The Board lias announced that their old positions would be open to the men if they applied before A.HO this afternoon.
A mass meeting of the Union is being held this morning to discuss the position. QUEENSLAND DOI.ICK GRIEVANCES. BRISBANE. Mav Id. The Metropolitan Queensland police union has decided that niciiiliers ol the union, both those on and those oil' Lily, shall form a procession which will march to the Treasury to interview the Home Secretary. The avowed intouion is that the demonstration shall be a peaceful one and its sole object will
lie the registration of grievances miller which the force is labouring. Should this decision be carried into dl'ect the streets of Brisbane will bo without police protection during the procession.
