Some interesting figures icgarding toe goods traffic from AYest to Erst through the Olira Tunnel have been made available by the Railway Depjjrtnient. 'J be figures refer to the gross tonnage of Lho goods, and include tho weight of tho trucks. They are as follows :

AA'eek ended April 12 7309 Week ended April 19 7109 Week ended April 20 7100 AA'eek ended Alay 3 3800 The decrease in the last two weeks is attributable mainly to the strike and 1 Iso to the lv'ster holidays. Tin* carriage of loads is reported to be quite satisfactory and the Department is well .satisfied with the progress made.
