THE “MUM” SHOW.

ON WEDNESDAY NEXT. A meeting of the Hokitika Chrysanthemum Show Committee, was hold last evening at All Saints’ Schoolroom, a good attendance of members being present. Arrangements were made for a working bee on Monday evening at 7.30 to arrange the various stands in connection with the staging of the exhibits.

It is expected then* will be a good number of entries in the cut bloom section, equalling any previous year's efforts. By special request. Mr .). Breeze, the well-known fancier, has kindly consented to act as Judge of the cut blooms, growers having every eoufidenee in his knowledge and long experience as a chrysanthemum grower, that they will proiil by his decisions and advice. Mr il. Haile will act as Judge of the vegetable class, so growers' will have the opportunity of their exhibits living judged by an expert grower.

Mr 11. Nightingale has generously consented to act again as Judge of the cooking section, so those who in their wisdom choose to enter a good homemade loaf, or something nice in the cake or pastry line, will he enabled by his decision, to see how nice. <>r how much nicer, they can make the good things for the house, when their efforts are judged by one who is an authority in this special line. The fancy-work and art sections, which arc in the hands of an energetic ladies’ committee have arranged an attractive schedule. The various sections will be judged by the Mayoress, Mrs Perry.

There will he a lollie and various other stalls, where visitors it is booed nil! 1)0 tempted to make various purchases. and hv so doing, help to swell the finances of the Hostel Fund. All the exhibits in tho vegetable class will he sold, so those whose gardens are hare this time of the year, have no need to go without, if they take the opportunity of procuring some at the Produce Stall.

Entries close on Monday with the Secretary. Mr A. Keller, who will he pleased to attend to the requirements of intending exhibitors.
