ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

RIG ENTRY AND FIRM MARKET,

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day

Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep.—Only a moderate yarding, and with the exception of a few pens of wethers and lamhs, the entry was comprised practically of all old ones. Owing to the inclement weather there teas only a small attendance of the public. The market, except for good lamhs. was somewhat easier, especially in the earlier part of the sale. Rest forward lambs made ills to 255, medium 18s to 20s Gd, others down to los. Very few good ewes w >i*. yarded. Rest sound and failing month cross breds made to 2.; .'it others 23 s to 255, host lorward * 1 csSbred wethers to 28s Id, best .1 l-rcd ditto to 30s Oil, medium erossored wethers 21s to 20s 3d, two-tootlis, good, up to 25s 3d. Store Cattle.—A fair sized yarding, hut, with the exception of one good line from Marlborough, the entry 'onsisted of oddments and old cows. TV demand was fair. 3 and 1 year steer., made to L‘7, good yearling ditto to £3 11s, 18 months to 2 year heifers 02 los to C‘3 7s, cows 21s to los, yearling heifers los to 28s. Fat Pigs.—A medium entry forward. The demand was only fair, prices being slightly easier than last week’s rates. Values were, light baroners C 3 los to £ I os; heavy Cl 10s to Co: extra heavy to Co ss; average price (id to fiffil. Light porkers C2 2s to C2 Ids: heavy £2 los to C 3 8s: average price 7UI to B',d. Choppers £_’ IPs to £o 7s.

Store Pigs.—A small yarding forward which comprised mostly u-eati-ers. No large stores were ollering. Values were, weaners 8s to 12s, extra good to 17s; small stores 18s to 21s. medium .'l7s to 12s.

Reef.—The largest yarding for some considerable time and all came Inroad from all parts of Canterbury and although the ipiality was very mixed there was a large proportion of well finished sorts, including several excellent-' lines from Ranks Peninsula. The market opened on a par with last week and as the sale progressed good ipiality sliilf improved but towards the finish ali classes eased considerably. Prime steers CM IDs to CM los, extra to £lO los: one extra special beast C2P. .Medium CP to £ll os, others down to Co IPs. Prime heifers C 7 to C!) IPs, extra to Cll os, medium .Cl 15., to £0 IPs. Prime cows Co los to Cl), others C2 los to Co IPs.

Mutton.—A large yarding and with the exception ol one or two outstanding lines the quality generally was the worst we have seen for some considerable lime. Everything practically came by mail, farmers in different districts making up mobs and driving them in, and as they were sending anything they could possibly kill, a large proportion of the entry by the time it reached the yards looked like

“dog tinker.” Despite this the sale was a. guild one anil compared more than iavoiirably with the sale a fortnight ago. although towards the finish of tli.- sale medium and inferior ewes were hard to sell.
