Addressing the Billions Club, General Bramwell Booth mentioned that he got a Jot of advice from spiritualists how to run the Salvation Army. One man in Boston said ho had a message for me from my father, who desired him to tell me that father was 'very dissatisfied with the way things are managed up above, and that he was trying to bring about an alteration. The General added that the message sounded very like his father. Another spiritualist, a lady in the West End of London also delivered a message to him from his father. This ran—“ Tell my son Bramwell to push collections.” The General’s comment was: “This sounded more like my father.”

The election of officers resulted in the return of the previous year's committee. Tiie Conference, after a lengthy, warm discussion, endorsed by 151 votes to 102 the executive’s decision excluding Communist delegates, and negatived liv 160 votes to 101 a further motion that all parties prepared to accept the Australian Labour Party programme should be allowed affiliation.
A further heat-oil discussion followed over the appeal by -Messrs Hailey, IMickley, Itramston, Sutherland, Aiinabau and T. ,1. Smith, former promnient members, against their exclusion from the movement in connexion -with what is known as the faked ballot box scandal.
■Mr Millis read lengthy sworn and other statements made in the course of an exhaustive enquiry into the matter, showing that ballot boxes with sliding panels were made for use, enabling the results of the balloting to be controlled. Straightout denials or rebutting evidence of (ho appellants was also produced.
The discussion was not finished when the Conference adjourned .
