Mr Walter Nash, the National Secretary of the New Zealand Labor Party, spoke on Sunday week lrst from the pulpit of St. Matthew’s Church, Auckland, on “The Church anil Labour.’’ Dealing with the Labour movement, Mr Nash said, that like the church its membership was open to all who subscribed to its objective. And that objective was the establishment of a system whereby the whole means of livelihood and production should he socialised. Socialism was the organisation of the production and distribution of the essentials of life for the benefit of all. Ti’.e labour Party, would, he added, do all in its power to enable the church to do its work provided that work was in accord with what they deemed was the wav of Christ.
