An outbreak of tire occurred yesterday morning in a small detached shop on Taimn Street, at the corner of Lombard Street, occupied by Miss A. A. Johnston, music dealer. Although the shop is situated near the centre of the town, there were, of course. Very few people about at that time, and some delay took place before the alarm was given. The Brigade arrived promptly, but it was tit once seen that the building was doomed. The fit! ines bad plenty of material to act upon, and had secured such a strong bold that nothing was saved. The detached | osition of the shop prevented tlu; flumes from spreading to the adjacent bouses. The building, which wa.s owned by Misses Crowley, was insured in the South British Office for £75. Miss Jcliustou’s piano was insured for £SO and her stock for £SO, also in the South F.'itish Office. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
