The Government has taken a drastic action against wealthy Germans travelling nliroad whore their display of luxury has created a bad impression, especially in view of the world wide appeals on behalf of the starving German children. It is estimated 70,000 Germans are temporarily abroad. The Finance .Minister points out their demands for foreign currency make it most difficult to maintain the value of the mark. The Government, therefore, is closing the frontier for two days, and has decided to charge £25 to each foreigner for a travel permit, except for business men, invalids, and compulsory journeys.
