THE EXHIBITION.

The Executive of the Exhibition Council met at* the County Chambers at 7.30 o’clock last evening. Present: .Messrs AY. J. Butler (President), AY. Jeffries, \Y. Wilson, P. Renton, A. Aitken, and R. Wild. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed and the outward correspondence was approved. FINANCIAL. The General Secretary submitted a statement of the accounts. The receipts to date were £6717 Us 2d, and there were £14(56 10s cash accounts to ho collected immediately. In addition there were assets on hand to the value of £647 10s for the goods, making the total possible revenue £BB3I 13s 2d. On the expenditure side there had been paid out £7658 lON. There were over £SOO of accounts to pass that evening, and with other accounts to como in the contingent liability at date would not exceed £BSO. This would carry the total expenditure covering the Exhibition to £BSOB 10s. Assuming that the goods on hand realised the estimated value the accounts would show at closing a credit balance of over £3OO. Tho .statement was received as satisfactory, and it was resolved to call for all outstanding accounts, and to collect accounts owing without delay. The disposal of assets on hand were discussed and referred to Air Jell lies and the Secretary to deal with. Accounts were submitted and revised bv the v'ommittee. The amount passed for payment was £530 is Id. Two accounts were hold over for further information, and three were reduced, the charges being considered excessive. Details of Hie general receipts and expenditure were submitted in statement form and received. Repairs to piano etc were referred to the Secretary to have same attended to. li was reported the final cleaning up at the Exhibition site would be completed early next week alter which all that would remain would be flic realisation of the assets on band, chiefly bedding. It was explained ibis matter was proceeding satisfactorily so lar. Ibe Drill Hall and Horticultural Hall were boinpt restored satosfactorilv to the approval of the authorities. Exhibits which had been loaned had been returned, all practically, in satisfactory order. General appreciation was expressed at the all round satisfactory progress in regard to the cleaning up of matters pertaining to tho Exhibition. The meeting‘oncluded at 8.30 p.m.
