Holliss-Walker, of London, after ten weeks here investigating the alleged wrong doings of the Squirs Government, finds definitely and absolutely, against Sir Billiards Squirs. The commissioner holds as proved that Squirs accepted more than forty thousand dollars from the Dominion Iron and Steel Company at a time when the concern was conducting negotiations with the Government. It concludes that such payment would only he made because the Company hoped to influence Squirs in favour of their interests. A\ ith respect to a charge that amounts paid to the Department of the Liquor Controller were not paid to the treasury, but to private individuals. Air AYnlker reports that the allegation is fully proved. lie stales Squirs received for his own purposes, over twenty thousand dollars of public funds at various times.
