HOKITIKA HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10th. The Boar timet at 2 p.m. Present— Hon. 11. L. Michel (Chairman), Messis King, Clifton and Bruce. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. Appointments of members were notified as follows: —Westland County Council, Mr A. Clifton; Hokitika Borough Council, Mr J. King; Ross Borough Council, Mr T. W. Bruce; Kumarn Borough Council, Mr T. W. Duff; Education Department, Mr J. A. Murdoch.—Received.
From Education Department-, Wellington, notifying reserves revenue had been placed to credit of Board.—Received.
From Canterbury Education Board giving required information ergarding subsidies duo on secondary teachers salaries.—Received;
From A. G. Pilkington offering to rent Government House.—Received and request granted at 22s 6d per week. From Canterbury Education Board, notitying Miss Mayne would resume duties and assuming that the subsidy of £SO would be renewed.—Received and agreed to. From Hokitika School Committee, suggesting that owing to the work incurred through Miss Mavne’s absence, that Miss Aitken, who carried on the French class, was entitled to extra remuneration. —Received. After discussion it was resolved to vote £ls 15s. From Auckland Grammar School Board asking for support to request for more power for High School Boards.— Received and proposal to be supported. Hon. H. L. Michel was appointed to represent the Board in any deputation to Government on the subject. The annual meeting was fixed for June 4th.
Accounts amounting to £6 12s 6 ! were passed for payment and the Board
