SINGAPORE BASE.
MV TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSN., (.'Ol* VI! In lII'. (Received this day at 9.-13 a.m.) LONDON, .March fi. It is reporled that an inllneiilial section of the Ministry considers if Australia and New Zealand attach .so much importance to Singapore base as being necessary to their defence, they should hear a substantial proportion of the ten millions, the estimated cost. At least it is altogether wrong to assume this represents the considered opinion of the Government, because Cabinet has i.id ed.isidererl tho question beyond suspending operations temporarily.
