The Daudet Mystery.

[,iv tki.eobavw —ran press association.j PARTS. February 23. There was an exciting half hour in the Chamber of Deputies when M. Buisson interpellated the Government regarding the secret police reports concerning the Hamlet mystery (cabled on Wednesday). The Minister of Justice insisted the mw was still under investigation, and lie made the postponement of the interpellation a question of confidence. M. Buisson declared that there was no question of asking the Government to disclose matters under investigation. M. Daudet had been the victim of infamous accusations, which the Government should not tolerate against ■ any citizen.
After M. Buisson was warmly applauded by three-quarters of the Chamber a friend of M. Daudet, create:! agitation by proposing to read tbc reports. M Poincare said that he and the rest of the Ministry would leave the Chamber if these documents were read, 'fine Government did not desire to hide any facts, but refused to agree to a discussion while the matters were sub-
judice. ■ The adjournment was carried by 886 votes to 185.
