KUMARA BOROUGH ROADS.
| RESULT OF COMMISSION. In December Air Aleldrum S.AI. sat as a Commission to eui|uiro into the appointment of the cost of maintainj ing the streets of the Borough of Kumara, the Grey and Westland County Councils being cited as prospective contributors. The local bodies have been advised now that the Commissioner is of opinion that no portion of the cost of the maintenance of the streets should be borno by either the Grey or the Westland County Councils. I lie Commissioner has recommended that the cost of the enquiry should be borne by the Kumara Borough Council, the sum of £-1 Is, solicitors’ costs, to be paid by tlie Kumara Borough Council to the Grey and Westland County Councils. Tlie Minister of. Public Works has ’ approved the recommendations ol the Commissioner.
Mr James Park appeared for the Westland County Council at the sitting if the Commission at Kumara.
