ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET, COAST LAMBS SKI.I. WELL. (Ey Telegraph.—Special to Cuardian.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Messrs IT. Matson and Co., report aa follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep.- A very large yarding, especially of lambs. Very few wethers hut more ewes were tillering than the previous week. Considering the very large yarding the sale must he rousidere 1 a good one throughout, although lambs were hardly as keenly sought after as last week. Any good wethers or young ewes met with good competition. The sale opened somewhat easier. Iml quickly improved and remained firm to the finish. Best twotooth half-bred ewes 35s Id. sound mouth ditto 28s Sd. full and failing month ditto ilk to 23- Id. I 6 and 8lootli cross bred ditto tils to 21s 7d. 2iooth ditto 20s 7d to lifts, aged ditto |tk lid to 17s, best uelhers tills to 26s fid, 2-tooth ditto 19s to 'ills Kid. best rape lambs -2s to 255, medium IDs to 21s lid. backward and inferior Its lid to 18s, i nils down in Ss lid. fltore cattle. A fairly large yarding mostly cows, and ihe quality generally was very indifferent. Tractirallv decent lines of either steers or heifgis were offering. The demand was fairly good all round. 2-yr. steers L'2 to £■’• 18-mos. to 2-yr. old boilers 2os to 30s. best, cows to £3 3s, others 15s to £2.

Tigs. Of fat pigs there was a good yarding. Forward porkers were easier and baconers met with an irregular sale. age price id. Store pigs. A large yarding. The demand was easier than for some time and towards the end oi the sale it was difficult to make, sales. Values were: Weaners 1 Is to 18s, good to 2.‘ls. small stores 21s to 275, medium stores 29s to fills. No large stores were offering. Beef. -V very large yarding, comprising about 525 head, and although Hie re were several nice lines of steers yarded, the quality was decidedly indifferent- throughout, and the market wni easier all round, on the average ol 20s to flOs per head. Prime steers made £l2 to £ll Ids, extra to £lO 10s. medium £0 to £ll 10s. others down to £!!. prime heifers £0 10s lo CO. extra to L' 11. prime cows £5 os to £8 os, extra t„ £lO 7s (id, medium £3 10s to £5. others down to £2 ss. Mutton—-Another very large yarding. being again mostly ewes. The quality on the whole was only fair, the freezing buyers being hardly as keen, especially for ewes. The market opened easier than last week and towards the end when butchers' requirements were filled, the prices wore a good deal easier than the opening rates. Prime wethers made 32s lo 3fi<. extra to 40s :>,] medium and inferior 24s 9d to 2<s (id. prime ewes 20* to 31s. extra to ;i:k Ski, medium 23s to 20s Oil, lighter and inferior 10s io 22s Od. Lambs.- A similar entry to hist week, but the quality all round was decidedly better. The sale was good throughout, freezing buyers operatiuv freely for all good quality, and graziers operating on the lighter and unfinished sorts. The average price was IOJd to KHd overall. Several lin-s ot West Coast’ lambs wore yarded and sold well. The condition that these lambs arrived in. as compared with "hen they had to he driven over the lull instead of being trucked through the tunnel, was commented on by buyers and agents, and generally speaking could scarcely he distinguished from local lambs.
