Mr Massey, in an interview, said New Zealalia's pint in Empire aviation can be but infinitesimal, but it must be o i the right lines. Probably both air- ' planes and seaplanes, would receive encouragement. He heartily endorsed a. scheme for bringing lads to New Zealand for farm work. 11c will probably announce the arrangement on somewhat similar lines, but on a larger scale titan the South Island venture. On the general subject of immigration, Mr Massey said be had been active. but lie cannot yet disclose any details. He could not recommend the placing of a loan in London at preseufF* not that out finance is hampet;od. hut he would like to sec money easier at Home, (there our credit v;as very good. People here did net renlite the position ~ \i Britain at the present time. It was very bad indeed. There was no necessity of calling Parliament earlier than usual. He did not believe there was afoundation for the report that Canada is now attempting to throw off the yoke ot Empire.
Questioned on the subject of proportional representation, Mr Massey said: “This country will never agree to it 1 am satisfied on that point.”

Before leaving for Wellington tonight, accompanied by -several Alinis-tf-rs, Mr .Massey said there was no reason why Parliament should meet carpi i- than'usual. lie thought lie could see his way clear to lighten the burden of taxation 'this year, and this matter would receive the earTv consideration of Cabinet.
The national finances he said, were buoyant, and the latest progress returns of the Consolidated Fund were satisfactory. A’ substantial revenue v as anticipated by the end of the financial year, and ’.there was every indication of a ,satisfactory balance.
