Fade is a member of a swimming family, his brother being champion of the local club. WATER SEP PLY LOAN REJECTED CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 23. The ratepayers of Greater Christchurch to-day rejected a proposal ol the City Council to raise a special loan of €77.25 ft to provide additional handworks and equipment to enable the high pressure supply to be carried into those areas ol the city at present without that service. The voting was: For, 1 ITS ; against, 1172; majority against 51. MURDER AND SUICIDE.
