EXHIBITION FLOWER SHOW.

Splendid entries bare, been received for the Exhibition Flow Show which takes place in the Soldiers' Hall next Wednesday and Tmirsday, January fail'd, ami 21th. There will he a fine ■show of flowers from Christchurch, the entry fur that plate being good. Owing to a misunderstanding as to the place whore entries closed, the committee bale decided, to extend the closing of entries till 10 a.m. the day of tile Show. This has also been, done to .suit cur Irieiid- from Ituniniga, a fair entiv being promised from there. In addition to the oomietitiou classes there will he some fine stands for ‘‘exhibition only”. The Westland Hospital and the Sea View Mental Hospital will he well represented. Displays are also promised bv leading nurserymen of Christchurch. Further entries may he posted to the Secretary <■ o P. 0.. Hokitika, or he may

be seen personally at the Soldiers’ Hall to-night am! to-morrow night. any time alter 7 p.m. The entry so far received assures a. splendid show, while the Cl rev mouth entry has yet to come to hand, as well ns many more from Cl)i istchueh. The exhibits have to be staged oil Wednesday morning by 11 a.in., the Show being open to the public on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Thursday from 9 a.m. t ll 10 pnt. The interest in Hokitika in horticulture should be greatly increased bv the holding of this Show, and anyone desirous of increasing his knowledge of flower and vegetable growing should not irrt'ss the opportunity of interviewing the Judge, who they will find only too pleased to assist by giving adveie gratis. It is to he hoped that the interest created by this Show will be the means of forming a live Hortieu 1 - furnl Society. The need of such a So-
