For Hokitika, the most successful howler was Fleming, who took 5 for -17. Hokitika replied with 107, Nash making -1J by playing beauliml cricket, and O'Connor 15, and Toomoy IT. In howling Fass took 7 lor -15, Hincksmnn 1 for 6. United’s second effort produced 85. Nightingale being top score with 81. Mosley made 18. In the howling Starkey took 1 for 2-1, Malloy 7 tor 80, and O'Connor 2 for 27. Requiring 126 to win and half an hour to go, Hokitika went for the bowling, lint were all out for 47.
