THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
FltO.M “Is IT PI'.ACK ?” I have heard it said that there is one law for the rich and another foilin' poor. There is no doubt one international law for the strong and anot.bei for the weak. It used to he said that in wars oplot cheered and the other fought; but tin cheering tools who filled the streets in August weie filling the trenches in September, and multitudes were filling glares ere the year was out. But when they cheered they had no realisation of the actualities of war. They idealised it. They only saw it in pictures. Germany has suffered more from weak or misguided leadership in recent years than any great country in the world. It is cue of the gross ironies of the Fttropean situation that the Treaty of Versailles is being gradually tom to pieces by the countries which are not only the authors but have most to gain by its provisions. Davd Lloyd George.
