Amongst them a pyritica. on heavy spur (bartium sulphate) from .Maiigatina and Dcmiiston. this being used for paints, and in the arts and in chemistry ; samples of limestone and mail for Portland commit making from Cape F’oulw ind, with samples of the crushed coal from Waimangaroa which is to he used in burning the cemenl : Cape granite building and memorial stone; gold bearing alluvial wash black sand and gravel from Charleston gold bearing terrace and from Fail-down ; concentrates from Carthage sluicing claim, containing platinum ; black sand concentrates from Addisons Flat : black sand from the well known Powell's beach claim at Charleston, auriferous iron sandstone cement from Addison’s Flat; varieties of coal from Westport Coal Comoany, Westporf Stockton Company, with Charleston, Mokihimii and Boiler Gorge still to come in.
