THOUGHTS FOR THE TIEMS.
C.tISK AND El'S KIT. The- directors of the Wellington Meat Export Company report that as a result of the year’s operations the profit and loss account shows a debit balance of £-fo!)5. All consignments of meat bavo been realised since the closing of the hooks; justifying the valuation placed thereon. This loss is due: ill To oxco-sive prices paid under extreme competition for live-stock, as compared with selling prices in London; (2) keenness exhibited by various companies to secure supplies to keep their works employed; (3) higher cost of working, owing to reducing output.
