COMMERCIAL ITEMS.
The usual fortnightly fixture at the above yards was held on Alonday, the yarding comprising 75 head oi prime entile which wore submitted to a regular attendance of buyers. Competition wa- keen throughout tho sale and prices per hundred with one or two exceptions were equal to those recorded at the last fixture. While there were no outstanding heavy cattle yarded the quality nevertheless could be termed good all round. Prime ox made from 44s to 50s per hundred, lighter and medium sort weights from 38s to 44s Gd. Prime heifers from 37s fid to 42s (>d and cows from 33s to 37s fid per hundred. Messrs W. The annual spring sale of store atoc-i;
was held at AraKuru- yesterday, when an exceptionally heavy yarding of cattle totalling 323 head were submitted to buyers. There was a good attendance of the hitter who were in search of well grown beef cattle, but 11,0 entry for these was mneli smaller than usual, nevertheless a total of 282 bead changed hands. A large percentage of these were old cows, heifers am' a fair sprinkling of springers. Prices for grown bullocks made irom C, I<s fid to CIO, while 2 and 3 year olds made from £1 11s to Ci.
