There is a boom at piosenl in I Lined m in dwelling-huilding (states the “Star”). Residences, mostly of lour or live rooms, are going up everywhere. One of the heads in the trad*, speaking about this said: I liis nut burst of activity has features of its own. It is nearly all building on spec, but without the element of gambling, for the dwellings are bought as soon as they are finished in many cases before the frame is up. 1 can plainly see that the days of building to let are over in the meantime perhaps never to return. As to prices! That is no difficulty. Material and labour show no s ; gn of cheapening, and persons who want houses to live in must he prepared to allow the builder a fair profit; but they have to buy, and that is the end of it. 1 should say that the profit on this building is hack to what it was before the war.
