Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store sheep.—A very small entry, comprised of wethers and hoggets, which seld it oil. Store cattle.—A large yarding mostly liodeseript lots and generally lacking in quality. A large attendance ol buyers and the demand was keen, the market showing an advance on last week. One pen of 3-year old steers made to £7 17s lid. Other quotations were as follows—3-yr. steers £6 19s to £7; 2-yr steers £3 10s to £3 l.s fid; Yearlings 29s to 3(b : 2-yr heifers £2 1 9s to C 3 15s: yearling ditto 33s to 40s. Cows from 29s to 555.

Rigs.—A small entry of fat pigs, the demand being keen. Bacotiers sold firmly at hue rate rates and porkers improved in price. Beef.—A large yarding, comprising only 315 head, ineluding a lew North Island cattle shut nut from last week. No Southland cattle were yarded. The quality generally was good, and although- tlie market showed an average rise of 20s to 255, per head the sale was very irregular. Prime medium weight cattle sold best. Mutton.—A larger yarding than last week, hut following on the last two small yardings. butchers evidently wero short, consequently the market opened at about last week’s rates, and if anything tinned as ft progressed. There was no appretiahle diitorouco in quotations from last week.
