At the Limerick Shipping case, Hughes (Manager of the Union Coy.) gave evidence that lie thought the steamers Bright Wings, and Emerald Wings, were well adapted for the service which they were put. and Scott Fell were capable iff giving efficient management to the vessels. Hyams (father of one of the victims) gate evidence that his son several times told him that the ventilation of the mine was had. A few days, before the accident lie informed Deputy Moody, another victim, that he smelt gas and that danger-existed. Moody replied : “l am Deputy.” The day previous to the disaster Hyams informed his father that unless something was done he would give up working, as he could stand it no longer. Witness advised him tm see the manager, or inspector, and if nothing were done to refuse to work.
