Tex Rickard has announced that ho Ims received a request from Carpontier for a bout with Tom Gibbons, who lusted 1') rounds with .Tack Dempsey. Rickard lms bosun negotiations tor such a match, and he believes ho will succeed in arranging it. Carpetior has asked for the light to take place in London, after Ins coming match with Beckett. The promoter hopes, instead, to arrange for the meeting here in December or January. Siki has been matched with George Godfrey, an American negro, to light at Philadelphia on the- Bth of October. Tom Gibbons says lie is willing and anxious to meet Carpentier. lie leaves it to his manager, Mr Kane, who is on route to New York to consult Tex Rickard concerning a return bout between Gibbons and Dempsey. N'.Z. TEAM IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, Sept. 18 Th e New Zealand team of amateur boxers arrived to-day. They are in good condition. They proceed to Melbourne to-morrow.
