KILLED AT THE ALTAR

BUDAPEST, July 26. AVhile the congregation were singing a hymn in the Protestant church at Nyiregyhaza, 17 miles south-east of Tokay, near which is the celebrated vineyard, the lightning struck the building, killing tile pastor, Nicholas Nagy, at the altar and two members of the congregation, which was composed of peasants wearing national costumes and high boots. The latter saved tht lives of many people as the lightning ran along the floor and burned only the leather.
