AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. THE DESTROYER DISASTER. NEW YORK, Sep. 14. Admiral C’oortz, reporting to the Navy Department regarding the loss of seven destroyers, says no adequate explanation lias been given of the fact that- though a submarine was far off its course, it was steaming through a fog at the rate of twenty knots. Besides those wrecked, two other destroyers were badly damaged. PRINCE OF AVALES IN CANADA. OTTAWA, Sep. 14. American papers- have sent many representatives to Quebec to meet the Prince of Wales. One camera man endeavoured to snap tlie Prince when emerging front an hotel. A secret service man knocked the photographer down. A lively scene followed. The Prince sent personal regrets to the photographer, and offered to meet the photographers to enable them to take special pictures.
