AN OTIRA TRAGEDY.
MAN FOUND DEAD. Word was received lasi night in Groyinnuth of a tragedy iliac had occurred in the vicinity of Otira some time during the present week. Constable Caldwell, while preceding along ahum a mile and a-half on this side of Otira, found the dead body of a well-dressed, well-nourished man. It became evident at once that lie had been dead some time, and then it was found thaL he had been wounded in tlie head with a gunshot. From the position of the body, and the nature of the wound, together with tlie presence alongside the body of a double-bar-relled gun, it became also evident that the ease was probably one of suicide. The gun was loaded in one barrel, while the other barrel had been discharged. Tlie name of the deceased is IIHill. He was apparently a stranger to the Otira district, as nobody was last night to be found who was acquainted with him. There will be an inquest held at Otira. in. all probability today. The- news of the tragedy created something of a sensation las* evening at Otira,
