VISIT OF U.S.A. WARSHIP. SYDNEY, Aug. 22. At the request of the Science Congress the United State- scout cruiser Milwaukee was sent to Australia, and she arrived to-day. Ihe object of the visit is to give the Congress an opportunity of witnessing a demonstration of the “Sonic” depth-finder. The warship stays eight days. At Melbourne the Science Congress concluded it- Melbourne session. The general opinion of the leaders is that the meeting was a great success. I: reassembles at Sydney on Thursday.
